Fully Independent, Regulated Advices

We believe passionately in our dependence and are confident in our strength to deliver high quality advice.  This is supported by our extensive Continuing Professional Development Programme for all our staff as well as the range of Compulsory and Voluntary regulation which we subscribe ourselves to.

Our Financial Services arms – Premier Independent Investments and Premier Mortgages – are both regulated under the Financial Services Authority.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is an independent non-governmental body, given statutory powers by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and who regulates the financial services industry in the UK. They have been given a wide range of rule-making, investigatory and enforcement powers in order to meet one overall aim: To promote efficient, orderly and fair markets and to help retail consumers achieve a fair deal.  For more information about the FSA and to check our regulatory status, please visit: www.fsa.gov.uk

Because we are already covered our the scrutiny of the Financial Services Authority we wanted to ensure the same transparency and regulations across as many of our business practices as possible.  So, we are also members of the following regulatory trade bodies.

Premier Wills & Estate Planning have elected for voluntary regulation through the Institute of Professional Will Writers.

The Institute of Professional Will Writers was founded in 1991 as a self-regulatory body to safeguard the public from unqualified practitioners and unethical business practices.

Membership is available only to those who pass the IPW entrance examination, or an equivalent run by the Law Society, the Institute of Legal Executives or the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Members are required to update their knowledge and skills annually through a programme of Continuing Professional Development in order to retain their practising certificate.

All IPW members have Professional Indemnity Insurance cover to a minimum of £2million, and subscribe to a rigorous Code of Conduct backed up by a disciplinary code.

The Premier Property Centre have elected for voluntary regulation through the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.

The Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) was formed in 1981 as the professional and regulatory body for letting agents in the UK. It was recognised that the requirements of the residential lettings market were so detailed and specific that a separate organisation was required to promote standards in this important and growing sector of the property market.

Membership is achieved only by agents who demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of their profession and that they conduct their business according to current best management practice.

ARLA members are governed by the Code of Practice providing a framework of ethical and professional standards at a level far higher than the law demands. Examinations are held regularly and membership rules require all member offices to have professionally qualified staff.

All members are required to have professional indemnity insurance cover.
